Derek left the room to give Nick some alone time, Nick laid there thinking, trying his best to remember things. Derek went to Kevins room. He sat there till Kevin woke up, How ya feeling? Derek asked. Not too good.. he winced in pain as he moved. Doctor said its gonna be a painful recovery. Derek said as he helped Kevin up. So Im on track.. Thats good? he chuckled then groaned in pain.. Shouldnt do that anymore. Derek held in his laughter Yeap. So hows Nick and Joe? Kevin asked. Nicks doing okay.. Cept he doesnt remember Joe,, or Jayme.. Derek said. Oh Kevin paused a bit.. And Joe? Hes fine too? Joe Joe aint doing too good. Dereks voice faded. W-what? What do you mean? Kevin eyes widened in shock. The doctor said hes in critical condition, and he could go Nooo I need to see him. Kevin said as he tried to get up, he grabbed his side in pain and groaned a little. Their parents knew that Aibara was going to have pancreatic cancer, but Hoshi was only at risk. They allowed an experimental procedure where both patients hearts were stopped and all the blood possible was switched, in under three minutes. The procedure was deemed a success, because the next time Aibara went for a pre-treatment check-up, her cancer cells were only juvenille, not mature like before. Neither child knew this had happened. Because of this, Hoshi didn’t go to treatments, and Aibara was lead to believe she had witnessed a miracle. However, her other personality always knew the truth. The procedure did have another side effect: it activated their chakra very early. However, because of the switch, the chakra was switched too, meaning: if the procedure had never happened, it would have been Aibara who had control over shadows. She would have been Nakama no Kurai; Hoshi would have been Nakama no Hayaku. Aibara’s other personality knew this, also, so she stored a tiny bit of the original chakra in Aibara’s brain.
