Teaching reading comprehension skills to high school students using the reading comprehension strand of Corrective Reading – a direct instruction reading program published by SRA/McGraw-Hill. Reading comprehension skills are taught through consistent language of instruction, student answer prompts, and frequent reading assessment. Reading for comprehension is a key component of each level of the Corrective Reading comprehension program.
